The Mumbai Police organised a city-wide “Operation All Out” on the intervening night of December 4 and 5 between 11 pm and 2 am, in a proactive drive against criminals, drugs and illicit activities. It carried out surprise raids and extensive combing operations across the city, resulting in arrests of dozens of absconding offenders and law violators.

Various tasks from checking hotels, combing operation and nakabandis to checking criminals on record, foot patrolling were executed, in which 362 criminals on record were checked and 53 cases of drug seizure and consumption were registered.

In this three-hour special drive, 362 criminals who are on police records for serious crimes were checked; 22 externee (tadipar) criminals found living in the area from where they were externed were arrested and 53 cases were registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act. Of which, 44 included for consumption and possession of drugs such as MDMA and ganja.

Moreover, police also checked 851 hotels, lodges and musafir-khanas. Citywide nakabandis were also organised at 861 locations, and 7,562 vehicles were checked. Action was taken against those who found in violation of motor vehicle rules.

Operation All Out was supervised by commissioner of police Parambir Singh and was led by Vishwas Nangre Patil, joint commissioner of police (law and order), additional commissioners of police of all five regions, 13 deputy commissioners of police and assistant commissioners of police (ACPs) of over 40 divisions. Senior inspectors of all 95 police stations across Mumbai remained present in their respective jurisdictions and oversaw the execution of the operation.

The All Out Operation resulted in the arrest of 48 absconding and wanted criminals, whereas 167 non-bailable warrants were executed. Police also seized an illegal firearm and 11 sharp weapons during the operation including swords and knives in just three-hours. In addition, 95 raids against illicit activities were carried out.
