'SIT' to investigate Ghatkopar tragedy, documents seized from Bhavesh Bhinde's office

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the advertisement board collapse incident at Ghatkopar. Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Crime Branch Lakhmi Gautam has issued orders in this regard. Meanwhile, the police said that the documents have been seized from Bhavesh Bhinde's office and accordingly the investigation is on. 17 people died in the Ghatkopar accident.


A total of 6 officers have been appointed in the SIT team. Inspector Mahesh Tawde in-charge of Crime Branch Room-7 under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Thakur will lead the team while Police Inspector Atmaji Sawant is the investigating officer of the case.

The financial aspect of Bhinde's business is being examined as it is said that it costs INR 4 to 5 crores to manage the Ghatkopar billboard. Who gave permission? Who issued the certificates? The police said that the investigation is on.


Investigation of bank accounts

So far the statements of two to three employees of Bhinde's office in Mulund have been recorded and the statements of others will be recorded. Account of Bhinde's bank account, more information is being sought about the transactions made through his bank account with 'Ego Private Limited'. SIT is in correspondence with banks. The team went to VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) on Tuesday as well.
