The "What India is Drinking 2024" report was released last week by 30BestBars India. The second edition of this annual report provides a detailed look at the alcohol industry in India. The report lists the top 10 most popular alcohol brands across 20 different categories.
The survey gathered responses from beverage managers, bar owners, and bartenders from 116 bars in 15 cities. The survey collected information from across tier-1 and tier-2 cities like Guwahati, Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru among others. As many as 616 brands were mentioned in the survey. Among these, 71 Indian brands made it to the top 10 in various spirit categories.
As per the report, Old Monk remains a cult favourite for rum in the country. However, Mumbai has seen demand for premium alcohols. The city has also shown preference to Indian wine, Sula.
