Throughout this year, with the rise of quick commerce and last-mile deliveries, you’ve likely browsed through numerous e-commerce, food, and fashion apps, or even e-pharmacies and D2C websites to track your orders. People have also relied on delivery services to send and receive parcels from loved ones within the city. In 2024, millions of orders were processed, packed, and delivered online through a range of delivery apps.

As 2024 comes to a close, delivery trends across India reveal significant growth and evolving consumer preferences due to immense penetration of quick commerce and delivery channels. Borzo (formerly WeFast), a global intra-city courier and delivery service, analyzed data from over 15 million deliveries across the country to identify the top trending categories in 2024.

Food and clothing continue to dominate the delivery categories for online orders across India. However, medicines and documents have quickly become a fast-growing segment. Consumers are increasingly turning to online platforms to purchase pharmaceuticals, attracted by the convenience and doorstep delivery, which allows them to obtain medications with minimal effort. Additionally, the demand for delivery services for documents and groceries is increasing, reflecting the growing dominance of online grocery shopping and the quick, intracity delivery of documents.

The strong demand for these items highlights a shift in customer behavior, where convenience and speed are key drivers of the country’s rapidly growing q-commerce sector.
