With an aim to act on government's decision to close the Taradoot project, some members from the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI), staged a protest in Pune, on Saturday, December 12, 2020.

SARTHI, a recognised NGO, has been working for the development of the Maratha community. Over the years, the company has been conducting training and research, drafting advocacy guidelines for the members from the community, thereby helping them understand the socio-economic and educational developments.

As per reports, more than 480 people were employed in the project.

Their role, based on the given job opportunity, was to act as mediators and ensure the people in the Maratha community are made aware of the schemes drafted for their betterment. Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Sambhaji Raje Bhosale met with the members from SARTHI to understand the matters at the protest.
