Western Railways is all set to implement the new timetable for its local trains, November 1 onwards. While the new timetable aims to introduce a better system for local trains, the commuters at Jogeshwari station will face trouble as six fast trains will not stop at the station during peak hours in the morning. Western Railways has cancelled Jogeshwari station as a halt for six fast local trains heading to Churchgate.

Furious over this, Jogeshwari residents have reached out to the Station Master’s office and have registered a complaint about the same. Meanwhile, it would be important to see whether Western Railways allows the fast trains to make a halt at Jogeshwari again.

The new timetable has been introduced in order to gain a systematic control over the increasing crowd and hence, the rail service is being extended by the addition of extra local trains. Therefore, many local trains have been rescheduled as per the new schedule and under the refurbished timetable, 26 slow locals will be run as fast trains November 1 onwards.

These local trains won’t stop at Jogeshwari station

  • 8:15 am local
  • 8:24 am local
  • 8:44 am local
  • 9:05 am local
  • 9:36 am local
  • 9:59 am local

The major problem with the six trains not stopping at Jogeshwari is that fast trains are an important option for commuters who supposedly are on their way to offices. However, the step taken by Western Railways is surely going to increase the rush on Jogeshwari station and result into an adverse situation for the commuters.
