Lately, there has been a considerable rise in the number of fire mishaps reported across the city. It has been observed that these accidents are majorly identified in the residential buildings.
This takes place despite various safety tools implemented and audits conducted by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
According to latest reports, a fire broke out on the second floor of a building in Mumbai's Agripada area. The incident took place in the wee hours of Wednesday, April 20, around 3 am.
As many as four fire engines were rushed to the spot. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertain while other details are awaited.
In a similar incident that happened in a house in BDD Chawl in Mumbai, on April 4, left two women severely injured. Of which, one was in critical condition with 70 to 80 per cent burns.
On the other hand, earlier in the day, a part of a four-storied building collapsed in Kalbadevi area of South Mumbai while repairs were being carried out. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The mishap occurred at Vardhman junction, Lohar Chawl area of Kalbadevi around 4.30 pm.
On being alerted, the fire bridge reached the spot along with the police and civic staff. A fire official stated that the work of removing the debris and clearing the area.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, an elderly worker died and two others were injured when the roof of a building inside JJ Hospital premises collapsed during some construction work.
