Only 50 to 60 potholes remain to be covered in Mumbai: BMC

Last week, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials had announced that they would cover up all potholes across the city by Sunday. However, now the civic body officials have cleared that only 50 to 60 potholes are left to be covered.

When the BMC discovered that there are 300 potholes across Mumbai, BMC’s additional commissioner Vijay Singhal assured that the civic body will fill potholes in 48 hours. However, post-Sunday, potholes were very much visible on the roads.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam and his party workers have started counting the potholes to cross-check the number of potholes the BMC claims to have filed in the city. With regards to the same, opposition leader Ravi Raja carried out a protest in the Wadala-Sion area where potholes at Babasaheb Ambedkar road were covered up. Along with this, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party workers too protested against the dilapidated buildings by carrying out fake final rites hinting towards BMC's lackadaisical attitude.
