MNS’ uncouth Protest: Damage pavement in front of Mantralaya; eight arrested

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has been aggressively protesting against the government’s failure to rectify the problem of potholes in Mumbai. After they vandalised the PWD office in Navi Mumbai, MNS workers on Monday night damaged the pavement in front of Mantralaya.

The police have arrested eight MNS workers over this incident. Earlier on Monday, MNS protested in Goregaon against BMC over the pothole issue.

However, potholes during the monsoons are dangerous, recently on Saturday, a young man named Sunny Vishwakarma died on the Sion-Panvel highway because of terrible road conditions. In Kalyan, another young man met with an accident and died.

The opposition is keen on taking on the civic body and Maharashtra government over miserable conditions of Mumbai roads during the monsoon. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), earlier, protested against the administration in Ghatkopar over poor conditions of the roads.
