Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Vaishali Darekar Rane, who contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the Kalyan constituency against Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, has resigned from her post as the party's Kalyan Lok Sabha District Women's Organiser.
In her resignation letter addressed to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Darekar said she was stepping down from her organisational responsibilities due to personal reasons. She stated that increasing personal commitments had made it difficult for her to devote sufficient time to party work and requested that her resignation be accepted.
Darekar had emerged as one of the prominent faces of the party in the Kalyan region after contesting the Lok Sabha election against Shrikant Shinde. Although she has resigned from her organisational post, she has not announced any decision regarding her primary membership of the party or indicated plans to join any other political outfit.
Her resignation comes at a time when Shiv Sena (UBT) is witnessing organisational changes in several parts of Maharashtra, making her exit another significant development for the party in the Kalyan region.
