Similar to the action taken last year, the government in Maharashtra has decided to reduce the syllabus by 25% for Class 1 to Class 12 for the 2021-22 academic year. State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad mentioned how after discussions with the concerned parties, and considering the present scenario, the said decision was undertaken on Friday.
The Education Minister, also elaborated that the State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT) Maharashtra, in due course of time will apprise the concerned parties on the lessons dropped for the 2021-22 academic session.
Maharashtra SSC results were announced earlier this month for more than 16 lakh students.
Moreover, since board exams weren’t conducted, the authorities have decided to direct an optional Common Entrance Test (CET) for the first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions. This exam is set to be conducted on 21 August, registrations for which have already commenced.
