These days, AI technology driven images are all the rage. Various artists with the help of AI technology are seen using their utmost creativity in the world of digital creations and creating intriguing artwork. Recently, a series of images of wealthy tycoons are making waves on social media. Under the title “Slumdog Millionaires”, the world’s most notable billionaires’ lifelike AI art portraits have gone viral.

Mysore based artist Gokul Pillai who is an engineer by profession shared some lifelike portraits of wealthy tycoons on his Instagram handle. The photos have gone viral. These images include Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mukesh Ambani, etc.

“It was coincidental that I happened to rewatch the movie Slumdog millionaire a few days back. Initial idea was placing politicians in the slums but the name Slumdog “millionaire” struck me and decided to place some actual billionaires in the scene,” said Pillai.

32-year-old Pillai created these images in 2 days of time. He has been painting and drawing in traditional mediums for several years as a hobby artist and is into photography for more than 10 years now.

Addressing AI created images becoming a sensation, Pillai said that he sees a lot of hatred among “real” artists on the internet but he thinks that it is just a phase. There were protests when computers were initially launched in offices, he added.

“I personally feel that AI art (when used wisely) can be a great addition to your skill set and I personally use it to bring my wildest imaginations into a displayable art form.

“Having said that, I think it is important to tag these images as “AI generated” (which some people don’t) and not to create an environment where nobody knows what is real and what is generated,’ said Pillai.
