Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb has been the talk of the town for a while now. The movie was earlier to clash with Salman Kahn starrer Radhe on Eid 2020. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, it was decided that the movie might skip theoretical release and venture on OTT. There were also rumours that Laxmmi Bomb may start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from September 9, which also happens to be Akshay Kumar’s birthday.
Now it seems that the release has been put on hold. While the real reason is not known as per the speculations, it could be due to the backlash Bollywood movies are getting on social media. The other reports are suggesting that the movie might be looking at a release around Diwali on OTT or theatrically.
Bollywood Hungama, on the other hand, has learnt from a source that the reason for the movie to pull out of the OTT release is because of technical issues. The report reads, “On seeing the final edit, Raghava Lawerence and his team felt the need to shoot for some patchwork scenes for continuity purposes and following Akshay’s approval, they decided to shoot at a studio this month”.
The report suggests that it will be a shoot that may last a couple of days and the Khiladi star will not be a part of this shoot. Since it is a horror-comedy, special effects are a crucial part of the movie and it took the team longer than expected to complete the same and due to the lockdown, the team was working remotely from different locations across the country.
Either ways it is unclear when the movie will now be releasing or if it would be streaming only on OTT or will it now try to get a theatrical release.
