Vikrant Massey is currently garnering headlines for his upcoming movie Ginny weds Sunny which looks to be a family entertainer. However, the actor would soon have to change gears as he gets ready to shoot a thriller. He will soon be seen playing the lead role in the Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil thriller, Maanagaram.

The movie is being directed by Santosh Sivan, who had directed Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor starter Ashoka.

Vikrant will be playing the role of an angry young man in this movie.  Talking about getting this offer Vikrant said, "When I got the first call, for a day I didn't believe it was happening. I had a wide smile on my face for a week because Asoka is one of those films that I watch every time it airs on the television."

Vikrant has been a part of many movies and web series in the recent past. Earlier in the year, he shared screen space with Deepika Padukone in Megna Gulzar's Chhapaak.

Talking about his journey Vikrant said, "It is my responsibility to deliver. An actor's job today is to be worth his audience's time and money, regardless of the screen size they are watching him on. The budgets of my films have changed and so, the stakes have risen. But I won't change my approach of surrendering completely to my character and director,"

There is no word on when the Hindi remake of Maanagaram will go on floors and who will be sharing the screen space with Vikrant in this movie.
