Shein, one of the world’s top fashion brands is going to make a comeback in India. Shein shut its shop in India post Galwan ban on Chinese apps. Now, it is going to re-enter the country with Reliance Retail, as per the sources. Reliance Retail will set up offline stores as well mark its presence online. It might be seen on Ajio’s platform. 

As part of a wider partnership arrangement with Reliance Retail, Shein is also likely to source its fabrics for its global as well as local manufacturing operations from India. As per the sources, the partnership will include sourcing, manufacturing and retailing. Before the 2020 Chinese app ban, Shein was a popular brand in India among women for its affordable and trendy fashion wear.

Chris Xu in China founded Shein in 2008. It is now based in Singapore and the approval from India implies that the government views it as a non-Chinese entity, sources said.
