The firm has already engaged with Hungama, UC News and a South-Asian content provider, Yupp Tv among others for the necessary content.

Digital wallet company, Paytm is now taking a step towards its entry in the Entertainment industry as it is set to offer news, live television, cricket, various entertainment videos and games to consumers within their Inbox feature.

Paytm Inbox was initially launched to allow the consumers to chat with friends and family on the application. The Paytm app also allows requesting and sending money and now along with the existing features, the e-commerce firm will offer added services. The company executives said that the initiative came in order to increase the engagement on the application and encourage the adoption of Paytm Inbox.

Deepak Abbot, Paytm senior vice-president said that they intend to offer content from news to live TV to entertainment videos and games to strengthen their relationship with the customers. Paytm has fast emerged as a super app for India and will continue to add more offerings to their portfolio, giving the customers another reason to use Paytm every day. 

The addition to their features is expected to increase the engagement on the application. More specifically, the company believes that this will boost the number of users as well as time spent on the app.
