A 'pet park' has been started for the residents and pet lovers in Juhu. The park has been developed with the funds of local BJP MLA Amit Satam on a site located in front of Novotel Hotel on Juhu Beach.
The park was inaugurated by filmmaker and social activist Ashok Pandit in the presence of residents. Work on the project began in September and is now open for use.
MLA Amit Satam said that this pet park is one of the seven gardens at Juhu Beach and is part of the efforts to increase the amount of greenery in the city.
He further added that this park, once belonging to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) park, was used for dumping ground and anti-social activities. Now, it has been converted into a petting zoo.
Explaining the vision behind the project, Amit Satam said, "In the last decade, I have developed 60 gardens in Andheri (West). While working on these projects, I came across the need for a pet park and the residents also expressed their demand. This led to the creation of this park. This park is for pets to play and roam."
