A case of murder of a 17-year-old kabaddi player has come to light in Thane. His 23-year-old kabaddi coach is accused of murder. According to police, the coach first strangled the player, then stabbed her with a pair of scissors. The accused trainer has been arrested.
According to Kapurbadi police, the name of the accused is Ganesh Gambhir Rao. A police investigation revealed that Ganesh was in love with the sportswoman, but he suspected that the girl was in love with someone else. Due to this suspicion, he went to the girl's house and killed her. The girl lived in a rented house with her mother and brother in a chali at Kolshet in Thane city. On the day of the murder, the girl was alone in the house. His mother and brother were not at home.
According to the police, Ganesh came to the girl's house on the morning of May 23, when there was no one in the house. In the presence of Ganesha, the young lady was talking to someone else on the mobile phone for a long time. This led to an argument between the two. The matter escalated and while the argument was going on, Ganesh strangled the girl with a rope kept in the house. After this Ganesha cut her throat with scissors. The young woman bled to death. After the murder, Ganesh had locked the door from outside and ran away.
The foul smell led to the discovery of the murder
The next day, neighbours informed the owner of the house due to a strong stench coming from the locked house. When the owner opened the door of the house, the body of the girl was lying there. The body was subjected to post-mortem at Mumbai's JJ Hospital, which revealed that the girl died due to strangulation and assault on the neck. After this, the police questioned the girl's mother, brother, neighbours and relatives. It came to light that this young woman is in touch with kabaddi coach Ganesh Gambhirrao. Police arrested Ganesh from Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai. During interrogation, Ganesh confessed to killing the girl due to suspicion.
