An RTI has highlighted that 6,834 voters from Kurla have been incorrectly registered under ward 163.
Anil Galgali, a social activist, has highlighted the discrepancies in the draft voter list of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He had lodged an objection with the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of L-ward on November 29, 2025.
"Due to the recent delimitation process, the section serial numbers 1,634 to 8,437 in the draft voter list is currently being shown under ward 163.
Also, it has been incorrectly mapped in the draft as it falls under ward 162. Such a misclassification can adversely affect the accuracy and fairness of the municipal elections," said Anil Galgali.
Anil Galgali has demanded that all 6,834 voters from ward 163 be shifted to ward 162 immediately to maintain transparency and integrity in the election process.
This comes after the Congress alleged that 70,000 voters migrated from one ward to another in Dharavi last week.
However, the civic body claimed that it has already launched a door-to-door verification drive to identify and rectify duplicate names in the draft voter list.
Mumbai Congress President Varsha Gaikwad has also met the Assistant Municipal Commissioner of G-North ward and registered her objection.
Similarly, last week, a Mulund resident and advocate, Sagar Devre alleged discrepancies in the Ward 106 (Mulund East) voters list, calling it a "voters list scam" that could distort the democratic process.
