77 per cent healthcare workers across 531 centres in Maharashtra receive COVID-19 vaccine

Over 3.9 lakh employees from the healthcare division of the government have been vaccinated in the state, informed the Principal Secretary of the Health Department Dr Pradeep Vyas.

The state government of Maharashtra, in January 2020, began administering the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine in a state-wide vaccination drive, as directed by the central government. As planned, healthcare workers across the state were given the vaccine in the first phase of the drive, and as per official data, a total of 40,331 (77 per cent) health workers received the vaccine across 531 centres in the state.

The highest number of vaccinations in the state was given in Mumbai suburban district (161 per cent) followed by Amravati, Pune, Dhule and Wardha districts which recorded more than 95 per cent participation in the drive.

Furthermore, over 3.9 lakh employees have been vaccinated in the state, informed the Principal Secretary of the Health Department Dr Pradeep Vyas.

Below mentioned is the vaccination statistics received until 7 pm, as of February 1, 2021. The data in the bracket represents a daily number of employees vaccinated along with percentage and total number till date.

Co-vaccination is being given at six places in the state, whereby, 112 people were vaccinated in Amravati district, 75 in Aurangabad, 71 in Mumbai, 59 in Pune, 143 in Nagpur and 11 in Solapur.
