Development of cycle track project on the Western Expressway is extremely ambitious and has been pending for a long time. Officials believes that this project will be environment friendly and will boost the use of bicycles. As per reports, Aaditya Thackeray, Guardian Minister of Mumbai suburbs has been working on this project and a review meeting was held recently in his presence to understand the update. 

Discussions were held regarding the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Mumbai Metro Line 3, and the proposed cycle track on Western Expressway. The team also reviewed the plan for the beautification of Mithi river bank. 

Besides the State Tourism Minister, A. Rajiv, Managing Director of Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ranjit Singh Deol, Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation P. Velarasu, Joint Commissioner of Police, Transport Branch, former Minister of State Sachin Ahir and Assistant Commissioner of Municipal Corporation were also present at the Sahayadri Guest House.

Officials expect to expedite the Metro work, especially before the monsoon. State Guardian Minister Aditya Thackeray also reviewed the tunneling works, flood control, pumping station etc. They also reviewed the cycle track which was expect to be developed on the Western Expressway.

Information was also taken about the cleanliness of Mithi river and and emphasis was laid on beautifying the river which flows through the city.
