Starting today, Shops in Ulhasnagar allowed to open on all days

After Mira-Bhayandar now shops will be allowed to operate on all days in Ulhasnagar as well. Earlier, the shops were allowed to function on the basis P1-P2 basis wherein shops on one side of the lane will remain open on odd days and those on the other side will remain open only on even days. However, now the civic-authorities in the area have given a go-ahead to shopkeepers to operate on all days. The special order regarding this was passed on August 17 and under the same from today, August 18 shops in Ulhasnagar can operate from morning 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The entire country has been forced into lockdown from the month of March to contain the spread of coronavirus. However, from the month of June, there are certain relaxations being offered so that the economic activities can restart while the country continues to battle with this novel virus. 

While these new relaxations have come as a huge relief for the traders in the area, there are also certain guidelines that are to be followed. The shops still can't operate in the containment zones. Also in all other areas, it is essential to wear a mask and follow all social distancing norms. Not following the same can attract punitive measures. Also, the traders can open their shops only in the time that is allowed, if they keep shops open beyond these times, they can be punished or fined regarding the same. 

The shopping malls, markets, swimming pools and gyms will remain close till further orders, the civic body said.

On Monday, Ulhasnagar had reported 38 new coronavirus cases. With this, the total case count of the area has climbed to 7,409 of which total active cases are 303. The death toll from COVID-19 in this area stands at 185, while 6,921 patients have managed to make a full recovery from the disease. 

Earlier in the month, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) also decided to allow shops to operate from August 15 for seven days a week. Earlier, the shops were allowed to function on the basis P1-P2 basis wherein shops on one side of the lane will remain open on odd days and those on the other side will remain open only on even days.
