Indian Railways has created a new history. Now passengers will not need to get down at the station to withdraw money during the journey. Because Mumbai-Manmad Panchvati Express has become the first train in the country to have ATM facility. Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has now been installed in the AC Chair Car coach of train number 12109 of Mumbai-Manmad Panchvati Express.
This facility has been started by Bank of Maharashtra. It is installed in a chamber at the back of the coach, where there is usually a small pantry space. Cash facility will be available only during the journey. This ATM is protected by a strong shutter door, so that it can be used safely and easily even when the train is moving. This facility will be especially beneficial for those passengers who are unable to get down at the station due to sudden need of cash or are traveling to remote areas.
This ATM has been installed at Manmad Railway Workshop with special technical and structural modifications. Additional electrical support and necessary structural changes were made in the coach to ensure that the machine can work smoothly despite the speed and jerks of the train.
