In a series to provide better amenities and facilities for its passengers, Western Railway (WR)’s Mumbai Central Division commissioned "Rail Coach Restaurant" at Bandra station on 19thJuly, 2025. The Rail Coach Restaurant was inaugurated byShri Ramdas Athawale, Hon'ble Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India and Adv. Ashish Shelar, Hon'ble Minister of Information Technology & Cultural Affairs, Govt. Of Maharashtra. It is one of the key highlights of the ongoing Bandra Station Mahotsav.

The new Rail Coach Restaurant underscores WR’s unwavering commitment to enhancing passenger amenities and improving the overall travel experience. This concept is an innovative transformation of a decommissioned railway coach into a swanky restaurant and offers a unique, air-conditioned dining experience right within the station premises. This initiative beautifully blends heritage with modern convenience, providing a comfortable and distinctive culinary option for both passengers and the general public. It will be operated 24 x 7, serving a diverse menu of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, catering to the varied preferences of daily commuters, tourists, and food enthusiasts.
With this latest addition at Bandra station, Western Railway continues its stride in reimagining railway infrastructure, providing innovative and luxurious amenities for its valued patrons.
