Every year, as monsoon arrives in Mumbai, the city can be seen filled with water on the roads. As water logging has been a recurring problem, on August 29, 2017, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had identified 225 waterlogged areas in Mumbai.

Accordingly, the civic body has kept a target to fix the water logging issue in 60 areas out of the total 225 places prior to monsoon this year. The repair work will consist of fixing the water drainage system, creation of new drains for rainwater management.
