The IPL matches have added to BEST's coffers and 500 buses of the BEST buses are being used to bring children to the Wankhede Stadium. BEST is getting an income of INR 60 to INR 80 lakh rupees from it. IPL cricket matches have started across the country from March 22. Some of those matches are also being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.


The Mumbai Indians vs Bangalore match was played at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. A large number of children come to watch matches at the Wankhede Stadium. BEST has taken the responsibility of bringing these children of the educational institution to the Wankhede Stadium. 500 buses of BEST were reserved to bring around 18 thousand children. It includes air-conditioned, non-air-conditioned, double-decker buses.

Generally INR 12,000 to INR 18,000 should be paid as a reservation amount for one bus after calculating the km distance and parking time of the bus. Therefore, BEST gets a revenue of INR 60 to INR 80 lakh rupees from the IPL matches held in Mumbai. With a revenue of Rs 60 to 80 lakh per match, BEST is likely to earn INR 4 to INR 5 crore in an IPL season, and the work of taking children to the Wankhede Stadium has been going on for the last 14 years, informed an official of the BEST initiative.


Next matches at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai vs Chennai on April 14, Mumbai vs Kolkata on May 3, Mumbai vs Hyderabad on May 6 and Mumbai vs Lucknow on May 7 will be played at Wankhede Stadium.
