Patil was reportedly on his way home when the collision occurred. Although he was wearing a helmet, it was severely damaged in the crash, and he sustained critical injuries after falling under the truck’s wheels.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and attempted to transport him to the hospital. However, heavy congestion on the Thane-Bhiwandi road, worsened by road repairs and the volume of heavy vehicles, significantly delayed the ambulance. Patil was declared dead before he could receive medical attention.
The truck driver fled the scene, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. Authorities are now collecting eyewitness statements to reconstruct the incident.
