According to the latest reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has invited tenders for the building of a public library in Vile Parle. In addition to the one-storey structure, it will also come equipped with study rooms.

In accordance with accounts, the proposal highlights that the library will be built in Vile Parle East's Subhash Road on a vacant plot that has been reserved for public amenities in Mumbai's development plan.

Based on narratives officials from the building construction department elaborated on how the estimated cost of the scheme is INR 11.9 crore. The project is anticipated to get finished in eight months, this, however, is excluding monsoon.

An official from the building construction department was quoted in reports elucidating that the building will have a ground-plus-one structure along with reinforced concrete. The facility will come equipped with amenities for differently-abled people that include the likes of ramps.

The official further uttered that because the plot is small and the fact that the neighbourhood has buildings, the storage of materials, manoeuvrability of equipment and working space will be a challenge. The official believes that the contractor will have to undertake small precaution measures during the time of the project because the adjoining area to the plot already has structures.
