Mumbai - The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has relaxed the criteria for appointment to the posts of hydraulic engineering consultants. The move, initiated under the concept of 'ease of doing business' will allow diploma holders from the civil engineering field to apply for and get appointed as hydraulic engineering consultants. These will have the authority to grant NOCs from the hydraulics department to buildings that are under construction. This work was being done thus far by junior engineers from the hydraulics department in each of the 24 wards. “The move will reduce the unnecessary workload on the engineers and approvals will also be faster,” said deputy municipal commissioner Ramesh Bamble.
