According to latest report, a four-storey building collapsed in Borivali West area of Mumbai on Friday afternoon, August 19. The incident took place around at 12:30 pm in the building named Gitanjali apartment, which was located in Saibaba Nagar.
Fortunately, no casualty or injuries have been reported so far. It has come to light that the building was vacated as it was declared dilapidate. While some reports mentioned that several are feared trapped under the debris.
Officials of the fire brigade department said that the team has reached the spot and rescue and relief operations have been started. At least eight fire engines and fire brigade personnel were rushed to the spot.
Many locals and other bystanders were the eyewitness of the mishap. Moreover, the dramatic collapse of the building was caught on camera and immediately started doing rounds on social media. The video showed people standing across the road were the eyewitness of the incident.
