Central Railway’s (CR) Bharat Ratna, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Railway Hospital, Byculla (Byculla Hospital) Mumbai, received donation of 6 Fowler Beds from the Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-City 3141 on July 27, 2023 at a function held in the Casualty Ward of the Hospital.
The Chief Guests of the occasion, Mridul Goyal and Sameer Joshi of Structural Specialties & Projects India Pvt Ltd, formally handed over the Fowler Beds to Dr Meera Arora, Principal Chief Medical Director, Central Railway in presence of her team of doctors and nursing officers. Kunjjaan Popat, Alpha President, Ramesh Jain, Project Coordinator and other members of Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-City also graced the occasion.
The Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-City 3141 has donated these state-of-the-art, high-end, Fowler Beds to the Casualty Ward of Byculla Hospital keeping in mind the outstanding ergonomics of these Beds. The availability of these high-end Fowler Beds facilitates raising the head (known as Fowler’ position) and these provide major benefits to the patients and staff. The Fowler position is used for sitting the patient upright for feeding, it eases breathing process and many other medical procedures are facilitated due to these Fowler Beds.
It is pertinent to mention here that two months ago Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-city District 3141 donated an Advanced Life Support Ambulance for Critical Illness (ALSA- Cardiac Ambulance) to this hospital.
Both Bharat Ratna, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Byculla and Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-City 3141 are looking forward to a long-term fruitful association for the benefit of patients attending Central Railway’s Headquarters’ Hospital at Byculla by way of providing various medical equipment and appliances to different areas of need of this tertiary level 366-bedded referral Hospital of Central Railway.
