In a kind gesture, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde helped a man whose luxury car caught fire on Mumbai’s Western Express Highway in the wee hours of Tuesday, September 13. The incident took place in Vile Parle area on highway, which is the major north-south arterial road, a fire official stated.

When this occurred, coincidently his convoy which was passing through the opposite road stopped to help the car occupant. Though it was raining outside, CM Shinde stepped out of his car and met the victims whose car caught fire.

The fire department received a call about the blaze at 12.25 am. Two fire engines were rushed to the spot and the blaze was doused. Fortunately, there was no injuries or risk to life to anyone.

Soon a video surfaced on social media platforms in which CM Shinde, who is accompanied by police and security officials, was seen speaking to the car driver. During the conversation, the chief minister asked the driver's name, who identified himself as Vikrant Shinde.

Hailing the CM for his actions, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre took to Twitter and shared: "At 12.30 pm, on his way home from Mumbai airport, who returned from Auranagad, CM offered help to the young man whose car caught fire suddenly at WEH near Vile Parle. This is our Chief Minister."

The CM asked him not go near the blaze-hit car, saying life was important, and assured help before leaving.
