Konkan Railway has started collecting fines online via the ticket examiner. Hence, 'Cash' along with 'Cashless' fines are levied. On the same lines, the ticket examiners of the Central Railway will also start online fine collection. Ticket inspection teams are stationed in stations to stop the passengers who travel free by railways. Ticket checkers also levy fines in long distance trains and local trains.

Many times, people who are caught travelling ticketless often have no money, for such the Central Railway has started working on a mobile application which will enable ticket checkers to levy fines online. Soon this app will appear at every ticket checker, a senior railway ticket checker has informed.

Ticket inspectors are prohibited from taking a fine amount into their personal account. Therefore, a separate app is being created. Through that, the amount of penalty can be paid in the relevant back account of the railway. At present, in the Central Railway there are 1400 ticket checkers and 800 ticket checkers work in the suburban stations.
