On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated the best-performing state-level corporations, authorities, government/semi-government institutions, boards, and government companies as part of the 100-day Administrative Reform Program.


A "Certificate of Appreciation" was awarded under the "100 Days Office Improvement Special Campaign," which was successfully implemented in 12,500 government offices across the state, district, and taluka levels.


Among 95 corporations, authorities, and companies evaluated across various government departments, the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) was ranked first for its outstanding performance. The certificate commended Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, Chief Executive Officer of the SRA, for his exemplary leadership and impactful work at the state level under this campaign.


Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, an IAS officer of the 2007 batch, was appointed as the CEO of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority in April 2024. He has been recognized for his distinguished administrative service and leadership across various roles in Maharashtra.


Dr. Kalyankar has previously served in key positions, including Raigad District Collector and Konkan Divisional Commissioner. During his tenure, he gained recognition for effective governance and crisis management, and notably led the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign during India’s 75th Independence Anniversary celebrations.


His leadership has been instrumental in advancing urban development and social welfare initiatives, earning him numerous accolades for his contributions to public administration.
