Dharavi reports single COVID-19 case for second consecutive day

The COVID-19 tally in Mumbai’s slum area of Dharavi increased to 3,570 with the addition of one new case on Thursday, as per BMC official. This was the second consecutive day when the slum- dominated area has reported just one COVID-19 case.

3,182 Covid-19 patients in Dharavi have already recovered and discharged from hospitals, leaving just 78 active cases in the densely populated slum area. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stopped sharing COVID-19 death figures from the locality.

In Dadar, only three new COVID-19 cases were reported, taking the total figures to 4,364. There are 181 active cases in Mahim and 4,008 patients have been cured and discharged so far. Meanwhile, the tally of COVID-19 cases in Mahim climbed to 4,122 with fourteen more cases. On a positive note, 3,657 patients have been cured. Now there are 569 active cases in the area. Overall, the G/North Ward, which includes Dharavi, Mahim and Dadar, registered 17 new cases today, and with this, the total number of cases in the ward reached 12,061.
