Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on April 13, 2021, had announced a curfew to break the chain of coronavirus infection in the state. However, despite sec 144, the spread of coronavirus has not decreased in the state and a large number of people are still leaving their homes. Officials have also noted that people are walking on the streets and crowding several areas in the name of essential services. As a result, COVID-19 cases are on a rise and the state is currently running out of beds, oxygen and medicines, which had added a lot of pressure on the health system.
