CoviSelf, a COVID-19 self-test kit that gives result in 15 minutes, is now available on Flipkart

During the second wave of coronavirus, many people were struggling even to get their test done. Consequently, as a part of the preparation for the third wave, Flipkart, the e-commerce website, has started selling Coviself -- a self-testing kit for COVID-19 antigen that gives results in 15 minutes.

The test kit is priced at INR 250 and available in a pack of one. can be used by 18 years and older individuals themselves or by an adult for individuals between 2 and 18 years old. The tests must be performed with the CoviSelf App to register and report results. The antigen kit contains a safe swab, test card, a prefill extraction tube, disposal bag, user manual and has a validity of maximum shelf life of 24 months.

ICMR, which is the nodal body in the fights against coronavirus, had also issued detailed guidelines on who can use it and how.

The minimum order quantity of the product is two kits. There are offers on the Covishield kit such that users can save up to 10 per cent if they buy over five kits. There is also a five per cent and seven per cent discount if users buy three or four kits. It also gives a five per cent unlimited cashback on Flipkart Axis bank credit card and a 20 per cent discount with Amex network cards issued by ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, SBI Cards, and Mobikwik.

Moreover, Flipkart has given a disclaimer that user’s personal information will be shared with MyLab, ICMR, or third parties as per regulatory requirements. 

It has also noted that MyLabs or ICMR or any other independent authorities or agencies or regulatory or governmental authorities may contact the user directly for test results or any other information regarding the test. 

Flipkart also mentioned that they shall not be responsible for the accuracy of test results or performance of the product or after-sales service of the product.
