Central Railway (CR) has extended the ongoing Traffic and Power Block at Platforms 16 and 17 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) till June 13, 2026.

The redevelopment project has been undertaken by the Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA).

The extension of the block is part of the larger redevelopment plan aimed at modernising CSMT and improving passenger amenities and station infrastructure in the long term.

Railway officials said the block is necessary to complete foundation work and other important infrastructure activities at the affected platforms.

The ban, which began on May 29, was initially for 10 days. However, on the request of RLDA, the railway administration has now extended the period of this ban till June 13.

Railway officials said that train traffic on platforms 16 and 17 has been suspended for the duration of the block.

The extension is expected to impact both train operations and passenger movement at the busy terminal.

To avoid disruption to the redevelopment work, several mail and express services will be stopped at Dadar and Thane stations instead of reaching CSMT.

The following trains will terminate at Dadar railway station until journey commencing on June 13, 2026:

- Train No. 12112 Amravati - CSMT Express

- Train No. 11002 Ballarshah - CSMT Nandigram Express

- Train No. 12810 Howrah - CSMT Express

- Train No. 11020 Bhubaneswar - CSMT Konark Express

- Train No. 22144 Bidar - CSMT Express

- Train No. 22108 Latur - CSMT Express

- Train No. 22120 Madgaon - CSMT Tejas Express

The following train will terminate at Thane railway station:

- Train No. 12134 Mangaluru - CSMT Express

Passengers have been advised to check the train schedules and changes in the terminus and make appropriate travel arrangements.
