Under the newly announced Maharashtra EV Policy 2025, buyers of electric vehicles can avail discounts of up to INR 2 lakh based on the vehicle category. Electric two-wheelers are eligible for incentives of up to INR 10,000, electric three-wheelers will receive INR 30,000, and electric four-wheelers can get up to INR 1.5 lakh for personal cars and INR 2 lakh for transport vehicles.

All electric vehicles sold and registered in Maharashtra during the policy period will be fully exempt from motor vehicle tax. Additionally, passenger EVs will get 100% toll exemption on major routes like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Samruddhi Mahamarg, and Atal Setu.

The policy also focuses on building sustainable transport corridors between Mumbai and Pune, as well as Mumbai and Nagpur. To support EV adoption, the policy mandates that all new residential buildings must be designed with 100% EV-ready parking spaces, including pre-wiring and allocated areas for chargers.

New commercial buildings are required to make at least 50% of their parking EV-friendly, while those with shared parking must ensure 20% of spaces have working EV charging stations. Moreover, every new residential complex must have a dedicated community EV charging point.
