Even though the month of April came to an end, the administration of the municipality was being criticised as the drain cleaning works had not started. After this delay, the Thane Municipal Solid Waste Department immediately completed the tender process and started the drain cleaning works for the last four to five days.

Like every year, this year too, the municipality has issued tenders for drainage works at nine ward committee levels. INR 9.96 cr will be spent for these works. Out of which INR 1.50 cr is for goods and services tax and INR 7.55 lakh is for insurance. Therefore, INR 8.38 cr will actually be spent on drainage works. During these works, a large amount of manpower, JCB, and Poclain machines will be used to remove the silt from the drain.
