When was the last time you took your hobby seriously and actually preserved for it?

Meet 20-year-old Chinmay Prabhu from Mumbai who not only made a Limca Record and Guinness World Record from his hobby but it was also the topic for his TedTalk. In an exclusive interview with Chinmay Prabhu who has won a Guinness World Record for solving 9 pyramix underwater in 1 minute 48 seconds we delve deep into his upcoming World Record.

I was 16 when I saw one of my friend solving a Rubik's cube and I have been fascinated by it since then. I first tried with the normal Rubik's cube and then started exploring various variants. I currently have over 80 types of cube at home and there are many more in my to-be-brought list. My relatives from abroad keep on showering me with different cubes from Hong Kong and States.

The Record In The Making

I realised that I could solve Rubik's cube really fast and thought of making a Guinness World Record by the amalgamation of 2 of my passions- cubes and swimming. As I had already won a Limca Record for solving cubes blindfolded, taking it to another level was definitely on the platter. My application got accepted by the Guinness authorities and they had told me that I should solve at least 4. I solved 9 pyramix i.e. pyramid-shaped cubes underwater in 1 minute 48 seconds. It was surreal when I held the certificate in my hand. I have been watching TedTalks since its inception, and the fact that I'm soon going to deliver a talk soon is unfathomable.

Next Record?

There's definitely another record attempt that's going to happen soon. I won't reveal much about it just a few hints: Its a combination of 2 of my passion again and has something to do with cycling.
