Two vigilant female ticket checkers (TC) of the Central Railway saved a woman's life on Sunday. 19-year-old student Pinky Roy works with a Gansoli-based private firm on her way home when she experienced severe chest pain.

Her mother said when she boarded a local train from the trans-harbour line at around 1:30 pm on Saturday, she was going to change train at Thane. However, when the train started from Airoli, she experienced severe chest pain.

In the same compartment, TCs Deepa Vaidya and Jain Marcella were checking tickets. After noticing Pink moaning in pain, both of them readily informed the Thane station manager, asking to arrange medical help.

As the condition of the passenger was critical, with the help of Government Railway Police and another passenger,  she was rushed to the civil hospital.

The senior CR official said the passenger had a medical history. After being admitted to the ICU, it was found that she had suffered a mild heart attack.

Pinky Roy's mother thanked both the TCs for the life-saving action.
