Minister Uday Samant said in the assembly that a fire audit of all the hospitals that are run by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) would be done soon. Assembly members Sarvashri Sunil Raut, Amit Deshmukh, Sunil Prabhu, Amin Patel, Ashish Shelar, Ram Kadam, Rajesh Tope, Ajay Chowdhary, Ravi Rana raised questions about the fire fighting system not working properly in BMC hospitals.
Minister Uday Samant said, fire audit of various hospitals under the civic body has been done. Hospitals that have been fire audited or have some deficiencies will be given time to complete fire safety measures at the earliest and complete the fire audit process within 90 days.

Along with this, keeping in view the safety of the patients, necessary funds will be made available to implement the fire fighting system in the hospital.
