On the intervening night of January 20, a major fire broke out at the Swaminarayan hall in Thane.

The incident took place at around 12:15 am at the Swaminarayan hall located in Pachpakhadi near Satranj wafers, Open house.

MSEDC officials and fire brigade officials along with two fire engines and one water tanker rushed to the spot soon after receiving the information.

According to reports, the fire was brought under control around 1:30 am. Moreover, the Regional Disaster Management Cell of the civic body official said that no casualty or injury was reported.

However, the reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.

A few days ago, seven people, including two firefighters, have been injured in a gas cylinder explosion after a fire at the auto spare parts shop in Wagle Estate area in Maharashtra's Thane city.

The fire was spread to two houses located nearby, said Thane civic body's regional disaster management cell (RDMC).
