Earlier in the week, there was a report of a fire in Crawford Market. On Monday, August 17 at around 11 in the morning this fire was reported from one of South Mumbai's most famous markets. Eight fire tenders are deployed to douse the fire and there were no casualties reported from this incident.

As per sources, the shop at Mohammad Ali Road, Sutar Chawl, beside Jumma Masjid, Bhendi Bazaar, caught fire in an unfortunate accident. This comes months after a level two fire broke out in the market area back in June.
