Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Friday presented ‘Inspiring leadership award’ to leading women achievers from Mumbai at Raj Bhavan. 

Governor Koshyari facilitated Vocalist Asha Khadilkar, forensic medicine expert Vasudha Apte, Aviation entrepreneur Leena Juvekar Dattagupta, social workers Ujwala Jadhav and Belinda Pareira and Doordarshan news anchor Shibani Joshi with the award. 

The felicitation programme was organised by the Leading Lady Foundation headed by Priya Sawant, inspirational speaker and leadership trainer. On this occasion, the Governor released the book ‘Golden Success Skills’ authored by Sawant.

Later in the day, the Governor also honoured the COVID ‘crusaders’ from India and the United States of America (USA) via video conference. The event to facilitate philanthropic persons and organisations was organized by the Indo American Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday evening.

On this occasion, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Group Ratan Tata has presented the Lifetime Achievement Award. Moreover, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, Chef Vikas Khanna, Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner, Godrej Group, Mahindra & Mahindra, Sonny Kakar of Sevatec Inc, Asif Dakri of Wallis Bank and Amol Biniwale of Perennials and Sutherland LLC were also honoured for their exceptional service to humanity during the COVID pandemic.

Consul General of United States of America in Mumbai David Ranz, President of IACC Rajyalakshmi Rao, Regional President Naushad Panjwani, Members of Awards Jury and others were present during the event.
