On Tuesday, July 26, morning, the Central Railways (CR), Mumbai division took to Twitter to share that the CSMT-Panvel local was ready to leave platform number one. However, it touched the dead-end of the same platform causing a derailment of one of the trollies of one rear-end coach. 

The same transpired at 9.39 am and no injury has been reported to anyone.

Owing to this occurrence, Harbour Line Trains are running from the CSMT Platform Number 2 and are thus, behind schedule. 

Further, the re-railment of the derailed coach is underway. 

Therefore, the main line services which are on CSMT-Kalyan/ Karjat-Khopoli/Kasara are running in accordance with its schedule. The CR regrets the inconvenience caused to passengers. 

Shivaji Sutar, CPRO, Central railway, Mumbai later in the day released a statement saying, "A coach of local train derailed on platform 1 at CSMT railway station at 9.39 am. Movement of few trains affected on Harbour line, nobody injured. Rerailment of the coach is underway. Main line services running normal."

It was nearly at noon that the platform number 1 at CSMT station was cleared. At 12.11pm, the re-railment work was finished and the CSMT platform number one was made available for traffic.

CR took to Twitter to share a video of the same.
