Chirabazar – The BMC authorities carried out anti-encroachment drive in Chirabazar area on Thursday. The said construction was entangled in the court case from last two years. The plot owner is against the construction on this plot and some chawl residents had also objected the construction activities there due to inconvenience.
The trust involved in this case had increased its construction activities. As the trustees were not following the instruction of the BMC, the High Court intervened in the matter and directed the BMC to demolish this construction. Meanwhile, the trustees had approached the court against demolition of their construction on the said plot but their plea was rejected in the first hearing itself.
Assistant municipal commissioner of C Ward, Jeevak Ghevadmal, junior engineer S. K. Mhatre and deputy police commissioner Vinod Sawant were present during the demolition drive.
