While the price of CNG has come down in the state, the price of milk has escalated. In Maharashtra, the price of milk has been increased by INR 2. The 22 organizations of cooperative milk unions have increased the price of milk by INR 2 per litre. The prices of Chitale, Thorat, Katraj, Thote, Purti, Sonai milk have been increased.

The Maharashtra State Milk Professionals Association has decided to increase the selling price of cow's milk by INR 2 per litre. This price hike will come into effect from today, i.e. February 1.

A meeting of 22 major private and cooperative milk societies of Maharashtra was organized through video conference on Tuesday evening. Milk procurement rate, milk bag packing and transportation cost have increased. Sales of non-state milk unions are have increased in the state market. Therefore, to avoid competition, it has been decided to increase the retail price of milk.

Meanwhile, some milk organizations have decided to reduce the commission (service charge) of major distributors and retailers to avoid burdening the consumers. Hence, the selling price of some milk establishments is likely to remain stable.
