On Thursday, November 25, the Indian Navy commissioned submarine INS Vela, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai, highlighted reports. With this India’s naval prowess has been ameliorated.

According to accounts, this is the fourth of the six submarines that the Indian Navy has inducted under the Kalvari-class submarine Project-75.

It has been reported that it has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd in liaison with M/s Naval Group of France.

INS Vela was commissioned under the presence of Navy Chief, Admiral Karambir Singh who elaborated that the submarine has the ability to perform an ambit of submarine functionalities.

Based on narratives, he further elucidated on how considering the present changing and complex security situation, INS Vela’s capability, as well as, firepower will play an important part.

Adding that it will play a pivotal role in ameliorating the Navy’s capability to defend the country’s maritime interests. In less than a week, this is the second prominent induction in the Indian Navy.

He also believes it can be considered as a momentary time in the relationship between India and France. Soon after the INS Vela was commissioned into the Indian Navy, Admiral Karambir Singh went onboard it.

Earlier, on Sunday, November 21, INS Visakhapatnam was inducted into the Indian Navy.
